About Us
Deidra Davis, founder and owner of "Sweet Pop Cakes and Creative Confections", developed a love for baking at an early age. Her frequent presence in the kitchens of both her paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother led to a fondness for creating sweet treats and making desserts for her family.
As a professional in the hospitality industry for over 25 years, Deidra has managed hotel restaurants, trained with culinary professionals and maintains a Food Service Manager certification. After the birth of her first daughter, Ryann, she began to use her baking skills. Oftentimes, Ryann would request certain character themes for her birthday parties that had not yet reached popularity, thus creating a challenge to find bakeries that could produce character cakes for her celebrations. Determined to make her daughter's birthday wishes come true, Deidra put her creative skills to the test and made birthday cakes, favors and treats for her daughter's parties.

The name "Sweet Pop" is a tribute to both her paternal grandfather who she affectionately referred to as "POP" and her daughter, Ryann, who she nicknamed "Sweet Popsicle Toes" as a baby. She would often sing the song "Popsicle Toes" to her while tickling her little feet.

Deidra takes special pride in using many recipes handed down to her from Pop and her grandmother, Laura Ruth. Each cake and treat is baked with utmost care to ensure that it is a heavenly delight to the connoisseur.
